What is the Advance Authorisation Scheme?
The Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme is one of India's major export promotion mechanisms under the Foreign Trade Policy. It allows exporters to import raw materials, components, and other inputs required for the manufacture of export goods at zero customs duty (Nil basic customs duty). The scheme is available to both manufacturer exporters who make the goods and merchant exporters tied to a supporting manufacturer.
Advance Authorisation can be applied for on two bases: (1) SION (Standard Input Output Norms) basis — where DGFT has published standard input norms for the export product in the Handbook of Procedures, or (2) Self-declaration or actual consumption basis — where no SION exists and the exporter declares actual input requirements certified by a Chartered Accountant. The licence is issued by the DGFT Regional Authority and must be endorsed by customs at the port of import before any duty-free imports begin. The exporter has 18 months to fulfil the Export Obligation.

What We Offer
Different service options and categories available through CargoMate.
New AA — SION Based
Advance Authorisation using published Standard Input Output Norms from DGFT Handbook. Faster to process and widely used for established export products with existing SION.
New AA — Self-Declared
Advance Authorisation based on actual input consumption per export unit certified by a Chartered Accountant — used when no SION exists or existing SION is inadequate.
AA Amendment
Amendment of existing Advance Authorisation for addition of inputs, change in port of import, addition of products, or modification of export obligation conditions.
EOP Extension
Application to DGFT for extension of the 18-month Export Obligation Period before it expires — with composition fee payment to avoid full duty liability on the unfulfilled portion.
EODC Redemption
Filing of Export Obligation Discharge Certificate with DGFT after complete EO fulfilment, using shipping bill data and e-BRC from all exports made under the AA. Closes the licence.
Annual EO Statement
Annual export obligation performance statement filed with DGFT each year during the 18-month validity period, even if EO is not yet fulfilled, to maintain licence validity.
Our Process
A clear step-by-step approach from initial enquiry to final delivery.
SION and Eligibility Check
We check the DGFT Handbook for existing SION and assess whether SION or self-declared basis is more appropriate for your product and situation.
Application Filing
ANF 4A application filed on DGFT portal with complete input-output declaration, IEC, RCMC, and supporting documents.
Licence Issuance
DGFT Regional Authority issues the Advance Authorisation. We collect and verify all details — input quantities, export obligation, validity.
Customs Endorsement
Critical step — the AA is presented at the customs port of import for endorsement before the first duty-free input clearance. We coordinate this.
Input Import Monitoring
Duty-free inputs are imported against the AA. We track quantities imported against the AA entitlement to prevent over-import.
EO Fulfilment and Redemption
Exports are made. We compile shipping bill and e-BRC data and file the EODC application with DGFT for licence redemption and closure.

Why Choose CargoMate?
Experienced, reliable, and focused on your specific requirements.
DGFT Scheme Expertise
We file Advance Authorisation applications on the DGFT portal daily — handling both SION-based and self-declared applications across all DGFT Regional Offices.
Customs Endorsement Coordination
The most common AA error is forgetting customs endorsement before import. We coordinate this step proactively as soon as the AA is received.
Input Monitoring
Over-importing against an AA (importing more than the AA quantity) creates customs violations. We track input imports against the AA entitlement.
EO Tracking
We maintain a 18-month countdown for each AA and file EOP extension applications when needed — well before the expiry.
EODC Compilation
EODC requires compiling shipping bill and BRC data across multiple exports over 18 months. We maintain records and compile this at redemption time.
SION Linkage
When no SION exists, we manage SION fixation alongside the AA application so you have SION-based AA for future applications.
