What is the EPCG Scheme and How Does It Work?
The Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme is a major export incentive under India's Foreign Trade Policy that allows exporters to import capital goods required for production of export goods at zero customs duty. The capital goods can be for pre-production, production, and post-production activities — covering machinery, equipment, instruments, moulds, jigs, and spares.
In exchange for the duty exemption, the exporter must fulfil an Export Obligation (EO) equal to 6 times the duty saved on the imported capital goods, within a period of 6 years from the date of EPCG Authorisation issuance. Annual EO statements must be submitted to DGFT. On fulfilment of the export obligation, the licence is redeemed through an EODC application.

Why Choose CargoMate?
Experienced, reliable, and focused on your specific requirements.
DGFT Portal Daily Practice
Our team works on the DGFT portal daily — EPCG applications, amendments, follow-ups, and EO statements filed accurately first time.
Export Obligation Precision
Incorrect EO calculation leads to either under-import or compliance shortfall. We calculate export obligations precisely using the correct duty rates and CIF values.
Timely EOP Extension
An EOP extension must be applied before the 6-year period expires. We track each EPCG licence expiry and initiate extension applications in advance.
EODC Compilation Expertise
EODC redemption requires careful compilation of export data from multiple shipping bills across years. We maintain records and compile this systematically.
Customs Endorsement Coordination
The critical customs endorsement step is often missed or delayed. We coordinate this between the DGFT licence and the customs port before capital goods arrive.
Multi-Licence Management
Exporters with multiple EPCG licences at different stages need systematic management. We maintain a dashboard of all EPCG licences, deadlines, and EO status.
