HS code (Harmonised System code) is an international classification for goods. In India, import duty rates, export incentives, and restrictions are determined by the HS code.
Air cargo can clear in 1-3 days. Sea cargo typically takes 3-7 days. Examination or queries from customs can add time.
First Check means physical inspection of the cargo by customs before goods are released. Second Check (now called ICES examination) is done at the risk management level.
